Dear School Community,

March begins with an important celebration — Women’s History Month. This is a time to recognize and honor the achievements, leadership, and lasting contributions of women throughout history and within our own schools and community. We are grateful for the women who educate, lead, mentor, innovate, and inspire every day. Their impact shapes our students’ experiences and strengthens our district in immeasurable ways.

Continuing our celebration of culture and community, we invite everyone to join us for our District Cultural Event on March 25 at the High School. This special evening will highlight the traditions, foods, heritage, and stories that make our district unique. It is an opportunity to learn from one another, build connections, and celebrate the richness of our shared experiences.

March also includes professional development days for our teachers, focused on strengthening their work within Professional Learning Teams. These collaborative sessions allow staff to learn more about how to analyze student data, refine instructional practices, and align strategies to ensure every student continues to thrive. This dedicated time for professional growth directly supports the high-quality learning experiences our families expect and our students deserve.

March is also the start of spring sports. It is hard to believe that we are entering the last third of the school year.

March is a month of recognition, celebration, collaboration, and community pride. Thank you for your continued partnership and commitment to our students.

As we begin the new school year, we would like to take a moment to remind the school community of our district’s no cell phone policy during the school day. This decision was made with one clear purpose: to keep our students focused on learning, socializing face-to-face, and fully engaging in the classroom experience.

Our mission in the Egg Harbor Township School District is to embrace families and their

students to provide a safe, rigorous, and relevant learning experience while students are engaged and educated to become responsible for their own learning.

We believe literacy is the foundation for all future success. By integrating innovative

teaching practices, common assessments, the MTSS framework, universal screening, data collection and analysis, and professional learning teams, we will empower every student to become a confident reader, writer, and communicator. Alongside academic excellence, we will instill expectations for student behavior and nurture social and emotional well-being, ensuring that all learners are prepared to thrive in school and in life.

Guided by our S.O.A.R. values—Safety, Ownership, Accountability, and Respect—we will foster a safe, inclusive, and culturally rich learning environment. Students will build life skills, character, and respect for diversity through learning and celebrations that honor all people and cultures. We will recognize progress and achievements to reinforce positive behavior, strengthen school pride, and create a true sense of belonging.

Stakeholder Partnerships– We will strengthen collaborative relationships with families, staff, community organizations, businesses, and government agencies to enhance student learning, activities, and athletics. Together,

we will align our goals and commitments to support the success of every student.
