EHTHS FBLA Recognized with Top Honors!

Egg Habor Township, NJ—More than 9,600 of America’s best and brightest high school students traveled to Southern California to establish their own Legacy of Leadership as they competed for the opportunity to win more than $170,000 in cash awards.

The Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) National Leadership Conference was held June 29–July 2 in Anaheim. Participants from across the United States and abroad attended this exciting conference to enhance their business skills, expand theirEHTHS FBLA Students networks, and participate in more than 70 business and business-related competitive events.

Two team events from Egg Harbor Township High School’s FBLA Chapter received national recognition at the FBLA Awards of Excellence on July 2. Sophomores Melissa Duff and Emily Rudolph competed in E-Business and brought home sixth place. They created and presented a website that would allow a platform for a digital yard sale to raise funds to attend the NLC. 

Sophomores Katherine Dinh and Sheikh Mahmud competed in EHTHS FBLA StudentsEmerging Business Issues and brought home fifth place. The team developed a presentation that discussed the positive and the negative issues surrounding cloud computing in relation to storage, access, and security.

“Egg Harbor Township High School’s FBLA Chapter has participated in national competitive events for the past nine years and this is absolutely outstanding. We had twenty-two competitors qualify on the state level to represent New Jersey at the National Conference; four competitors came home placing in the national top ten for their events – proud for all our NLC Competitors!” -Kimberly H. The awards were part of a comprehensive national competitive events program sponsored by FBLA-PBL that recognizes and rewards excellence in a broad range of business and career-related areas. For many students, the competitive events are the capstone activity of their academic careers. In addition to competitions, students immersed themselves in interactive workshops, visited an information-packed exhibit hall, and heard from motivational speakers on a broad range of business topics.
