Honors and College-Prep English One

Students are expected to come to class everyday prepared and ready to work. I emphasize and stress that each student is responsible for his/her own actions and will be held accountable for these actions in my class. All homework assignments are recorded in the agenda books, so please check these daily. You can also access my homework page to check on weekly homework assignments.

At the 9th grade level, we cover a variety of literary genre, including short stories, Shakespeare, poetry, and numerous writing projects, including the research paper. The research paper is a very important component of the 9th grade curriculum.

The grade breakdown is as follows:

• Tests/Papers/Projects} 40%

• Quizzes} 20%

• Homework/Classwork/Class Participation} 30%

• Quarterly Exam} 10%
