Roberto Goizueta:  Businessman ( 1931-1997)  Roberto Goizueta grew up on one of the Cuban sugarcane plantations that his wealthy family owned.  Though he spoke little English, Roberto traveled to the United States for his education.  After attending Cheshire Academy in Connecticut, he majored in chemical engineering at Yale University.  Roberto worked for his father’s sugarcane business for a while, but then applied for a chemist position for Coca-Cola I Havana.   After the communist revolution of 1959, Roberto and his family left all of their belongings in Cuba and fled to America.  He continued to work hard at he Coca-Cola Company and eventually moved to the Atlanta headquarters to accept a vice-president position.  In 1980, Roberto became the president and CEO of Coca-Cola stock increased by more than 7,000 percent under Roberto’s leadership!  Coca-Cola is now sold in more than 200 countries.  In 1997, Roberto C.  Goizueta died of cancer at age 65.
