Dear EHT Community,

In December 2015, President Obama signed a new national education law. It is called the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). It replaces the previous education law known as No Child Left Behind (NCLB). Since this is a national law, it applies to all states in the US. ESSA does give some flexibility to states, so that there may be minor differences from state to state.

The following link is a brief PowerPoint about Every Student Succeeds Act that was presented to the New Jersey State Board of Education this year. It gives you a quick tour of the law. I hope it is helpful.

This is a new law, so new regulations are being crafted as we speak and will continue to be developed during 16-17.

On behalf of the EHT Board of Education, I am happy to share this website with you.
